Cloud Operations Engineer (2 openings: Entry-Level & Senior-Level)


Responsibilities

IMP is looking for a highly motivated and self-driven hands-on Cloud Operations Engineer with experience in Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS) to join IMP’s Innovative Technology Practice. You will contribute to the technical development of IMP’s service offerings for our high-profile investment and hedge-fund management clients. Your primary responsibilities will be to manage the Azure Cloud Environments that support our custom development projects.  You will help us continue to deploy existing applications and support new and innovative tools and solutions to help deliver our consulting projects on time and on budget.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the day-to-days Dev and Prod Cloud/SaaS hosting environments from deployment, maintenance, and upgrades
  • Monitoring and auditing environments with automated monitoring and alerting tools
  • Creating and executing all necessary Disaster Recovery policies, procedures, and drills
  • Ensuring compliance with all security related policies and procedures
  • Architecting, installing, and deploying Cloud/SaaS based virtual servers, databases, and virtual network resources
  • Implementing networking and cybersecurity best practices
  • Release management and change control
  • Test planning with automated testing solutions such as Test Café or Selenium IDE
  • Troubleshooting software systems, optimizing performance, resolving problems, and providing follow-up on all issues and solutions
  • Configuring and managing all imports/exports out of environments

 

Desired skills/knowledge:

 

  • Experience in at least one Cloud/SaaS hosting environment such as Azure (preferred) or Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Experience in testing and troubleshooting full-stack web applications
  • Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools such as Microsoft Azure DevOps
  • Experience in benchmarking and network optimization
  • Experience writing queries or stored procedures in SQL utilizing Microsoft SQL Server or other platform (MySQL, Oracle, etc.)

 

Requirements

  • Undergraduate Degree from an Accredited College or University in Computer Science or related field or honorably discharged veteran with a minimum of 4 years of experience.
  • Excellent technical design, problem solving, debugging and communication skills
  • Solid written and oral communication skills

 

Location is Boston, MA but remote candidates will be considered.   Up to 20% travel may be required.
