AI/ML Developer
About the Role
IMP is seeking a motivated, hands-on AI/ML Developer to join our Innovative Technology Practice in Chelmsford, MA. This is a full-time in office role. Local candidates will only be considered. In this role, you’ll help design, build, and deliver cutting-edge applications and tools that support high-profile investment management clients. You’ll collaborate with developers and consultants to evolve existing applications, architect new AI-driven solutions, and ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and with impact.
You’ll be deeply involved in the full development lifecycle—from design discussions and prototyping to release and optimization—while staying ahead of emerging AI/ML technologies that can accelerate our solutions.
What You’ll Do

Design, develop, and deploy cloud-based applications in Microsoft Azure

Build and integrate AI/ML models into enterprise applications to solve business challenges (e.g., predictive analytics, natural language processing, anomaly detection)

Develop pipelines for data ingestion, cleaning, and feature engineering

Implement and optimize machine learning models using frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, and Microsoft ML/ Azure Machine Learning

Work with Python, C#, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, and MS Visual Studio

Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities where AI/ML can drive business value

Manage releases, version control, and source code integrity

Troubleshoot, optimize, and support applications to ensure performance and reliability

Contribute to software engineering best practices and code quality standards
Required Experience
-
2–5 years of professional experience in software development, data science, or applied AI/ML engineering
-
Hands-on experience with Microsoft ML / Azure Machine Learning for model training, deployment, and monitoring
-
Practical experience with Python and ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn)

Exposure to ML lifecycle tools (MLflow, Kubeflow, or similar)

Familiarity with large language models (LLMs), generative AI, or NLP

Strong understanding of data pipelines, APIs, and model deployment in production

Front-end frameworks: React.js, Vue.js (preferred), Angular, or AngularJS

UI frameworks such as Vuetify or styled components
-
Working with RESTful APIs, JSON, and modern build tools (Webpack, Babel, NPM)

Performance benchmarking and optimization

Strong SQL Server skills (queries, views, triggers, stored procedures)

Experience with DevExpress/DevExtreme (a plus)

Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field (or equivalent experience, e.g., 4+ years of service as a U.S. military veteran)

Strong technical design, problem-solving, and debugging skills

Clear, effective communicator in the English language (both written and verbal)

Self-driven with a collaborative mindset and ability to lead and manage multiple projects

Chelmsford, MA (This position requires 5 days in-person). No relocation package provided.
