Industry Knowledge:

Has demonstrable, deep expertise in one or more commercial-grade Trade Order Management Systems.    Should understand key functions for front, middle and back office as well as compliance.

Knowledgeable across several product strategies, such as the following:

Equity:

  • Equity active management:  Large, mid and small cap.
  • Equity modeling and hedging strategies
  • Equity passive management
  • International and emerging markets

Fixed Income  

  • Core and “core plus” portfolios
  • Short-term
  • Tax-advantaged strategies
  • Credit derivative strategies, including international
  • Structured product
  • Bank loans

Securities lending

Business Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of the financials of professional services firms  
  • Understanding of departmental of Profit & Loss (P&L) and managing to utilization goals.
  • Understanding of sound human resource management and career development.

 

Skills:

  • Project Management Capabilities:  Coach team members on creating logical project plans.  Use expertise to assist project managers with creating  workable project plans with milestones, dependencies and resources.
  • Capable of presenting to all levels, including C Suite:
    • Ability to deliver clear messages
    • Explain complex issues and articulate solutions
    • Help clients make good decisions
  • Proven Coaching Skills
    • Identify gaps in team performance and understanding
    • Create plans to close gaps and improve performance
    • Encourage and support team members
  • QA/Testing:
    • Plan testing programs
    • Utilize and improve artifacts
    • Staff testing teams

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years Investment Management Experience
  • Minimum 5 years OMS implementation experience
  • Experience running a high-performing team consulting team and growing the practice
  • Successful track record of developing and nurturing referenceable clients
  • Successful in expanding company contacts and finding and developing new client relationships
  • Candidate should have industry contacts that support his/her level of industry experience

 

Responsibilities:

Grow the practice in accordance with company goals:

  • Establish IMP as a trusted partner with clients by delivering consistently outstanding service.
  • Expand contacts throughout the client organization;
  • Land additional projects at current clients;

Consistently meet P&L goals

  • Manage team utilization to goals.
  • Enhance team skill and knowledge to support utilization and rates
  • Grow the team

Demonstrate industry thought leadership

  • Stay up to date on industry best-practices and trends.  
  • Build personal credentials and demonstrate expertise by completing speaking engagements each quarter, with at least one external (e.g. industry conference).
